Aveox Embat
This is a great flying sport plane. Many people consider it to be the "big brother" of the Great Planes Electrostreak. It is slightly larger all around and allows for larger cells and easier placement of the equipment. The Embat can handle all of the basic aerobatic maneuvers and is one of my favorites in the fleet. This plane was built for me by my father. My building skills are not up to par with this kit. I asked him to build this kit as I wanted a "perfect" plane as this was the first ship that I was going to use a brushless system. Construction is not an easy task and I would only recommend that a skilled builder attempt this kit.. The directions have some steps out of sink and are vague in a few spots. (Don't ask me where because we did not take notes.) This plane has tempted the garbage can gods a few times. The most recent "event" was at the 2001 NEAT Fair. The Embat had a head on mid-air collision with Keith Shaw's "Bear Kitty". The Embat faired much better as the landing gear went right into the "Bear Kitty" wing. Right after the collision I noticed that it was primarily still in one piece and still had control. I put her in a long glide path down the field and the motor fell out 20 feet before touchdown. She has been repaired and is now in active duty. I did leave the yellow/orange paint stripe (from Keith's plane) on the fuse as a battle scar.
